Join us for a class on the grass & picnic in the park!

On Saturday 11 July 2026, in place of our regular classes we will head to Greenwich Park, where we will run a class outside followed by a picnic! The weather is not always predictable — particularly this year! — but, short of a downpour, we intend to go ahead notwithstanding showery or windy conditions.

All students are welcome, not just Saturdays but also Mondays and Wednesdays! We will run a combined class 0900-1045, followed by the picnic.

1. 15 min warm up
2. Split into the following. Students can choose
   • Advanced katas: TBA, 30 mins on each
   • Heian katas: roughly 10 mins each on Heian kata
3. At halfway we change to the following. Again, students can choose
   • Karate games (mainly for younger students, but adults can join too)
   • Kumite, junior & senior (light though as we’re on grass)
4. Then we regroup to wind down with kihon
5. Picnic!

This is our big social event of the summer so join us for training. Uniforms are not necessary (despite what the picture shows!). Instead, wear loose clothing / tracksuit / sportswear and trainers — so, no flip flops or Crocs! Bring your picnic rug, gazebo, football, frisbee, food & drink (rain mac, umbrella 🙄) and bring your parents, siblings & children!

We’ll meet near the Herb Garden / white house in the North West corner of Greenwich Park before moving slightly further in.
