A few of us headed to our friends in Chelmsford for a training and grading with Sensei Andy Sherry, 9th Dan and the KUGB’s senior instructor. Sensei Sherry was one of the founding members of the KUGB and has dedicated his life to karate. His classes are always excellent and this was no exception. He took the seniors through basics, then kumite training for kizami tsuki, gyaku tsuki and ushiro geri, followed by kata Kanku Sho.
We’re delighted to announce that all four Senshi students who took their grading got full passes. Many other students were given temporary (half) passes and this is a reminder that KUGB has a high standard of karate. It makes the achievement by our students all the more impressive. We have the following new grades:
– Jitin, 5th kyu (purple)
– Derik, 5th kyu (purple)
– Esha, 5th kyu (purple)
– Charlie, 8th kyu (red)
