Training & grading with Sensei Frank Brennan, 17 November 2018

For the first time, Senshi Karate hosted karate legend Sensei Frank Brennan, 8th Dan. At the age of 19 he won both the senior kumite and kata events at the European Championships to become Grand Champion of Europe, a feat he achieved no less than four times!

We were pleased to welcome guests from other KUGB clubs including Canterbury Christ Church and Sensei Carl from Ichiban, who has been our guest instructor previously.

Sensei taught a 90 minute class and took us through the three Ks of karate: kihon, kata and kumite. He then ran a grading for 18 of our students and we’re pleased to say they all passed.  Here are our new grades:

– Alaina, 1st kyu (brown + double white)
– Vijay, 4th kyu (purple + white)
– Jitin, 4th kyu (purple + white)
– Esha, 4th kyu (purple + white)
– Jimmy, 4th kyu (purple + white)
– Eliana, 5th kyu (purple)
– Rita, 6th kyu (green)
– Anu, 7th kyu (yellow)
– Sagar, 7th kyu (yellow)
– Sanjna, 7th kyu (yellow)
– Charlie, 7th kyu (yellow)
– Ashton, 7th kyu (yellow)
– Kelsi, 8th kyu (red)

Once again, many thanks to Ann who took most of the photos!
