We were delighted when Sensei Robert Dejean, 5th Dan, asked to be guest instructor at our Greenwich dojo. Sensei Robert is very fit, very flexible and very fast. The first you know about his mawashi geri jodan is after he’s kicked you!
In part 1 he ran a basic class focusing on “feeling” your karate. He reminded everyone you need to push yourself to improve, push your stretches a little more each time, use your preparation hand – your checking hand he called it – as part of the technique. He said to use the floor to generate power and don’t just punch the air.
He came back for part 2 on October 13th!
